The 2015 Patuxent River Conference was held June 18–19, 2015 at the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum located on the Patuxent River. Eighty participants from thirty-six organizations came together to explore research, monitoring, restoration, and management occurring within the Patuxent River watershed. White Paper
The documents contained are meant to focus on the conference - to synthesize and describe its outcomes, to inform and help readers understand the intent and process of the conference, and to give those interested information to answer questions or make decisions regarding those outcomes
The basic document introduces the Patuxent River and describes the current state of the freshwater streams and the Patuxent River mainstem. It describes the objectives and anticipated outcomes of the 2015 Patuxent River Conference, and the preliminary results of the discussion groups.

The second document is a more extensive discussion of the outcomes of the 2015 Patuxent River Conference breakout sessions, including not only the five most fundamental questions of focus, but also the fifteen fundamental questions from which those five were chosen.

Polling Results
During the second day of the conference, facilitated small discussion groups brainstormed and prioritized gaps and questions of greatest concern regarding the future of the Patuxent River. Those questions focused on watershed / upland habitat and species, tidal habitat and species, and conservation, restoration, management, and monitoring strategies.
Following these breakout sessions, questions generated from each group were compiled. Live voting using clickers calculated the number of votes for each of these questions and displayed the results in graph format. These results reflected the questions of greatest concern to the audience at large, and are displayed on this page.
|
As a warm up to the breakout sessions, members of the audience self-identified in response to questions about their role and their primary work. These results give a snapshot of the participating population and are displayed on this page.
